Pilates is excellent for preventing injuries before they even happen, as well as injury rehabilitation. We sometimes refer to injury prevention as 'prehab' and it is something I am a huge believer in as a physiotherapist. We can prevent an injury from occurring in the first place by properly conditioning the body with Pilates.

Correcting muscle imbalances and improving your posture can allow your muscles and joints to move in the way they are designed to. Having flexibility and strength in the areas we need it most can stop us developing dysfunctions (which may otherwise lead to pain and injury). These Pilates for injury prevention exercises are powerful for athletes and amateur sportspeople alike as they progress from beginner to advanced levels.
